I first created this web page on February 23rd, 2010. Two days earlier it was over 70 degrees. On the 23rd it was snowing. Here are some pictures.

We took several major trips in 2010. Here is the list:
In addition to these major trips, we visited friends and relatives and they came to Austin for visits. In January Kathy went to Oregon to visit her brother Ed.
We went to San Antonio for grandson Henry's second birthday party in February. Here are some pictures.
In March, we went to Beaver Creek, Colorado for our annual ski trip. One afternoon we went for a hike and I took some pictures of the snow.
Kathy visited her daughter Holly in San Francisco after spending a few days with the skiers in Beaver Creek.
While Kathy was still in California, I went to San Antonio for daughter Audrey's 40th birthday party.
In April, Kyra and Joe visited us for Easter. Then the next week Holly came for a visit.
In May, Kathy and I went to Las Vegas to see a couple of Cirque du Soleil shows. Here are some pictures.
Later in May, my brother Scott and his wife Rebecca came to Austin for a visit. We took them to Lady Bird Lake, Mt. Bonnell and the Oasis for views of Lake Travis. Here are some pictures.
In early June, Kathy went to Washington to give a baby shower for Kyra, who was expecting in July. Later that month we went to my brother Scott's wedding party in Columbus, Georgia after spending a day sightseeing in Atlanta. Here are some pictures taken at Stone Mountain just north of Atlanta. And here are some taken at the wedding celebration at Scott's house outside of Columbus.
In July, on our way to Glacier, we visited Kathy's friends Ken and Roberta Eldred at their ranch south of Montrose, Colorado. We enjoyed being outdoors, seeing the birds and flowers, exploring in the ATVs, fishing and watching the sunsets. Here are some pictures.
After visiting the Eldreds, we flew to Kalispell, Montana and drove to Glacier National Park. We spent the next week there taking a photo workshop from instructors from the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Read about the week in Glacier here.
In August, Kathy and I took a cruise in the Baltic Sea on the Regent Seven Seas Voyager. This was our first experience on an all inclusive, upper end cruise line; and we liked it. Read about the 10-day cruise here.
In September, we went to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks with four other couples. Read about this trip here.
In late September early October we visited our friends Tom and Jeanette Hix at their place in Colorado. Read about the visit here.
Next in October we went to Napa, California for Chris McWhorter's wedding. On Thursday the 7th, we flew to San Jose and had dinner with Kathy's friend Laura. After dinner we drove up to Napa. On Friday morning we rode the Wine Train and toured Raymond Vineyards. On Friday night we attended the wedding at the V. Sattui winery. Saturday morning we drove to the Francis Ford Coppola winery where we had lunch on the patio overlooking the vineyards. We tasted their wines and bought a bottle. That night we attended the party hosted by the McWhorters in Sonoma. On Sunday we drove back to San Jose via Muir Woods and Sausalito. Along the way we took photos of the fog on San Francisco bay.
Later in October, Kathy's brother Ed from Washington and cousin Gail and second cousin Deb came from Boston for a visit.
In late October early November, I went on a scuba diving trip to a remote part of Indonesia. The first four days were spent at a resort off the north east coast of Sulawesi. The area is known as Lembeh Straight. There are many strange creatures here living on a black sand bottom. Here are some pictures from Lembeh. The rest of the trip was spent on a dive boat, the Ocean Rover. We covered a lot of territory either side of the equator near the western tip of New Guinea. The area is known as Raja Ampat. Here are some pictures from Raja. The picture below shows the Ocean Rover.
We had Thanksgiving at out home in Austin. All of my children and grandchildren came, as well as Kathy's daughter Holly from San Francisco. It was great to have everyone here at the same time. Here are some pictures.
In the summer and fall, Kathy went to Washington, D.C. several times to see her daughter Kyra and her new granddaughter Charlotte. One of the times that she went was while I was in Indonesia. We both went to visit them at Christmas. We were very lucky to get home and not get caught by the blizzard that stranded so many people on the east coast.
And while doing all of those things, Kathy did computer work for Special Olympics and I was the webmaster for the Austin Newcomers Club.
